Poker is a card game where the player’s goal is to have the best hand. It is one of the oldest games and has been played since ancient times.<\/p>\n

In each round, players bet according to their hands’ value as compared to the rest of the hand. The betting round ends when all players have either called a previous bet or folded.<\/p>\n
The first player to bet is known as the “blind”. In some games this is a fixed amount of money. In other games, it is a fixed number of chips.<\/p>\n
During the betting round, each player may “check” (not place a bet) or \u201copen.\u201d Checking is common among inexperienced players as it allows them to make an initial bet without having to worry about being forced out of the hand if another player raises their bet.<\/p>\n
Call: A bet made in a betting round is called a “call” and can also be called a “raise.” If a player calls, he must match the last high bet. If he does not, he is called a “fold.”<\/p>\n
A hand that includes two distinct pairs of cards and a fifth card is known as a pair, while a hand that contains three distinct cards and a fifth card is referred to as a full house.
